Black Ruby, released in the mid-90s by the USDA station in Byron, GA, is a Queen Ann x Santa Rosa cross. The fruit is firm and colors to a red-black finish. Flesh is yellow and sweet so fruit is recommended for fresh-eating. This variety is tolerant to humid climates, making it a great choice for southern districts. Harvests late August.
